Before being an administrator, Kate spent six years as a BEC counselor. She loves helping students find their passion, and is always looking for ways to make BEC even better. Kate works with all BEC students and families throughout the state and is based in SE Portland.


Stephani Rasmussen

Stephani has experience working in a multitude of educational settings. What she enjoys most as an educator is building close relationships with students and their families, as well as helping students explore their future college/career options and prepare them for success in the workforce. Stephani works with students throughout the state and is based in Eastern Oregon.


Kimberly Lynn

Dean of Admissions

Kimberly has spent nearly 20 years working in education in various roles. She has been with the Baker Early College from the beginning and has a strong commitment to the program and has thoroughly enjoyed playing a role in its growth. Her greatest passion is her family, she is a proud mother of two kids. Kimberly and her husband spend most evenings and weekends with their son and daughter, cheering them on in their many activities. As a family, they love to travel and spend quality time together. Kimberly works with all incoming students and is based in Central Oregon.


Corinne Brantner

Counselor

Corrinne graduated in 2010 with a bachelors in Biology and Psychology from Oregon State University, Go Beavs! She swam all four years for OSU. After coaching for a few years, she decided she wanted to go into the counseling field. She completed her Masters in Mental Health Counseling in 2015, and then also completed her Masters in School Counseling. She fell in love with the virtual education world and saw it do wonders for students and their success.


Richelle Colenso

Richelle’s career is focused on helping people develop into their potential. Since becoming a school counselor in 2007, she finds much joy in navigating high school and beyond with students and their families. Prior to that, she dedicated years working for a Fortune Global 500 company in Human Resources, so she understands the work-world after high school and what it takes to get there.
Richelle obtained an M.A. in School Counseling from George Fox University and has a B.S. in Human Resources from Oakland University. Her roots are in Michigan, but considers Portland, Oregon home after more than a decade. Her personal interests include hiking, camping, dog sitting, mystery shopping, researching vacation destinations and raising her two very active boys with her husband.


Jaymie Leach

Jaymie was born and raised in Roseburg, OR. She received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from University of Nevada - Las Vegas while on an athletic scholarship with the UNLV Rodeo team. Jaymie moved to Central OR in 2012 to get her Master's in School Counseling from Oregon State University - Cascades. She was a school counselor in Culver, OR for 5 years and is now starting her third year with Baker!


Whitney Scott

Counselor
Portland CC

Whitney Scott has been a high school counselor since 2008. She received her Masters in School Counseling from George Fox University. In addition to counseling, Whitney has coached basketball and track and field.
Whitney lives on a small farm outside of Portland. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching and playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with her dogs and alpacas.


Robert Williams

Rob Williams has been a school counselor since 2014. He is working on his Licensed Professional Counseling credentials and is looking forward to being part of the BCS Student Wellness Team this year in addition to being an Early College Advisor. He enjoys helping students explore their talents and interests, addressing mental health concerns, and being a support for students and families. When not working, he's probably exploring the Central Oregon mountain & lakes hiking trail wilderness.


Allison Styffe

College & Career Counselor

Allison has a passion for helping students discover their strengths and pursue their goals. She earned her master’s degree in School Counseling from Oregon State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Literature and English Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. Prior to joining the Baker Early College team, Allison’s career in student development has taken many forms: she has worked as an academic and behavioral coach at College Excel, has been part of the Student Life department at Central Oregon Community College, and has recruited and trained young adults to teach abroad with the English Language Institute/China (ELIC). Along the way, her specialty has become empowering students to thrive as the best version of themselves through self-awareness, goal-setting, and personal development. In her free time, she soaks up her roles of wife, mom, and aunt; she tries new recipes and goes fly fishing when the weather is nice; and she loves to read books and watch reruns of Friends.


Lael Bingham

HS Options Teacher

Lael went to school at Oregon State University to become a secondary math teacher. In 2007, she graduated with a Masters Degree in Mathematics Education, and she has been happily teaching math to high school and middle school students since that year. Currently, she teaches Geometry for the Web Academy and Early College.


Stormy Shannon

Stormy is an adaptable and empathetic teacher who loves to inspire students to engage their strengths and passions. She loves integrating the natural world into her work whenever possible. Stormy is resourceful and creative, and she takes special pride in the meaningful relationships that are built with students and families.


Kelly Spike-Melo

Registrar

Kelly grew up and graduated from a small high school in Echo, Oregon. She attended K-12 on the same block in Echo, graduating with a whopping 13 in her class!! Kelly played volleyball and basketball all four years and was awarded the scholar athlete award. Kelly received a full ride scholarship to BMCC, where she started as the setter on the volleyball team.
Kelly has worked many different trades: from coaching volleyball and basketball to designing and installing sprinkler systems, driving farm equipment, being a stay-at-home mom, waitressing and much more. Kelly is an honest, hard-working mother of 3, married to a rancher. She loves spending time with her family and friends. She is always looking for a way to improve herself as an overall person and is always searching for a way to keep that much-needed balance in her life. Kelly emphasizes that it is best to surround ourselves with those that make us happy and remind us everyday that life is just too short to not live in the moment.
