Vision Statement

Baker Charter Schools strives to promote safety and inclusion for students to thrive in a creative, flexible, and supportive learning environment. We value and affirm each student inclusive of race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, immigration status, ability, religion, and sexual/affectional orientation.

We will continually identify and remove barriers through:

  • Quality, Inclusive, and social justice-oriented curriculum and practice

  • Providing ongoing equity training for the BCS community

  • Creating equitable access to technology and resources

  • Continually meeting each student’s individual needs 

  • Equitable recruitment and hiring practices

  • Implementing and refining policies with the aim of dismantling institutional inequities 

  • Transformation of systems that contribute to inequities

  • Empowering students to pursue their ideal futures as members of the global community

Equity Team

The equity team is a group of staff that is dedicated to develop equity practices, policy, and being responsive to families needs. They will meet once a month to review our progress and continually work to ensure equity progress at BCS.

Equity Request

Our goal is to set up feedback loops with our students, parents, and staff to ensure all feel welcome and supported at Baker Charter Schools. Please fill out this form if you find a particular content, policy, or practice at Baker Charter School offensive. Our equity team will meet regularly to review these requests and do our best to respond back.
